Hello from the Garden Bears Team,
As we move into June, we’re really beginning to see the payoff from all of the spring planting, mulching, edging, and landscape work completed over the last several weeks. Properties throughout Sussex County are starting to fully come alive with color, healthy growth, and fresh summer curb appeal.
This is one of the most rewarding times of the year for us. Watching everything establish, fill in, and thrive is exactly what we work toward during the busy spring season.
What We’re Seeing Right Now
Across the properties we maintain throughout Sussex and Kent County, we’re seeing:
• Flowers and seasonal plantings beginning to fully establish and bloom
• Shrubs, roses, and ornamental grasses showing strong early-summer growth
• Healthy growth in recently mulched and edged beds
• Increased need for regular maintenance, trimming, and weeding as summer conditions settle in
• Properties beginning to reach their peak seasonal appearance
A lot of the hard work from March, April, and May is now starting to show.
June Focus: Maintaining the Momentum
This time of year becomes heavily focused on maintenance and preservation. Our goal is to keep properties looking fresh, clean, healthy, and polished as temperatures rise and growth accelerates.
Current services include:
• Detailed weeding and bed maintenance
• Shrub trimming and shaping
• Rose and perennial maintenance
• Touch-up mulching
• Fresh edging and bed redefining
• Monitoring and treating pest activity
• General cleanup and property detailing
We are also always happy to discuss:
• New planting projects
• Landscape redesign ideas
• Drainage concerns
• Property upgrades
• Additional hardscape or garden improvements
Even small touch-ups this time of year can make a major difference in keeping a property looking sharp throughout the summer.
Seasonal Reminder for June
With warmer temperatures arriving, it’s important to keep newly installed flowers, shrubs, and plantings consistently watered during dry stretches. Many of the new installations throughout the area are entering the stage where strong root establishment becomes critical for long-term health and success.
We’re also beginning to monitor:
• Deer activity
• Heat stress on younger plants
• Weed acceleration after rainfall
• Early summer insect and pest activity
If you notice any issues around your property, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
A Note from the Crew
June is one of our favorite times of the season because we truly get to see all of the planning and hard work come together. There’s a big difference between simply maintaining a property and truly caring for it, and we take a lot of pride in making sure every property we work on continues to look its best week after week.
We remain incredibly grateful for all of the continued support from our clients throughout Sussex County and surrounding areas.
